PARTICIPANTS OF THE “DISTRIBUTED GENERATION” COURSE GAINED PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE FOR OPERATING IN THE ELECTRICITY MARKET

Participants of the “Distributed Generation” course, which is part of the Social Program of JSC “Market Operator” aimed at increasing awareness of the functioning of Ukraine’s electricity market and which took place on March 31, 2026, acquired applied knowledge developed on the basis of practical case studies of electricity market operations.

Within the course, attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the implementation of distributed generation—from technical solutions to full integration into the market. In particular, detailed attention was given to the installation, grid connection, and operation of gas piston and cogeneration units, the specifics of connection to electrical networks under martial law conditions, as well as models of producers’ participation in market segments and opportunities for the commercialization of generated electricity.

A particular focus during the consultations was placed on practical aspects of operations, including interaction with key market participants, compliance with regulatory requirements, and the efficient management of electricity generation and sales processes within the framework of the current market model.

The course brought together representatives of business and the energy sector, for whom the issue of energy independence is becoming strategically important. Today, in-house generation is viewed not only as a cost optimization tool, but as a foundation for resilience, continuity of operations, and the reduction of operational risks.

The next “Distributed Generation” course is scheduled on June 9, 2026.
