International Women’s Day, celebrated worldwide on March 8 each year, is ïðåæäå âñåãî about the path women around the world have taken—and continue to take—in the pursuit of equal rights, equal opportunities, and dignity.
At JSC “Market Operator”, women play a significant role in ensuring the stable operation of the company, the development of the electricity market, and the implementation of new solutions. Today, women make up 50.3% of the company’s workforce, while their share in management positions is 28.3%. Their professionalism, responsibility, and leadership are an essential component of the company’s effective performance and sustainable development.
We consistently uphold the principles of gender equality and equal opportunities. JSC “Market Operator” is a signatory to the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs)—a global initiative of the United Nations Global Compact and UN Women—and implements a gender policy aimed at fostering an inclusive working environment, ensuring equal conditions for professional development, and strengthening a culture of mutual respect.
An important role in implementing these principles is played by the Gender Committee of JSC “Market Operator”, which works to raise awareness of gender equality issues and to develop a corporate culture based on partnership, equality, and non-discrimination.
We also pay particular attention to supporting women in a broader social context. As part of our social program, 333 women have enhanced their awareness of how the Ukrainian electricity market operates, contributing to their professional development and expanding their opportunities. At the same time, JSC “Market Operator” maintains contact with colleagues who are on maternity leave, as well as with women employees who have already retired, engaging them in the life of the corporate community. Such initiatives reflect our commitment to one of the WEPs principles—community engagement and development.
Therefore, March 8 is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude to the women of our team and to our female colleagues across the sector for their professionalism, responsibility, and significant contribution to the development of the company and the energy sector of Ukraine.
