The demand for electricity purchase on the day-ahead market decreased by 13,3% in December, and the supply for electricity sale decreased by 10,8%. The demand for electricity purchase on the intraday market increased by 7,9%, while the supply increased by 33,9%.
The volume of electricity traded on the DAM in December was 1 380 583 MWh, whereas on the IDM 269 319 MWh of electricity were traded. The first 10 days of December was the most deficient on the DAM and IDM.
The price index of BASE electricity on the day-ahead market of Ukraine amounted to 3 290,59 UAH/MWh in December 2022. The weighted average price of electricity purchase and sale on the DAM was 3 347,46 UAH/MWh for this month. On the intraday market the weighted average price of electricity traded in December was 3 481,86 UAH/MWh.
The average prices on the day-ahead market in Ukraine are more than 2,7 times lower than the same prices in Romania, Slovak Republic and Hungary. The BASE index on the DAM of Ukraine is lower than the same index on the BCM by 0,3%.
