09.03.2022

The Ukrainian Market Operator calls on energy market operators in the European Union to suspend access to trade by Russian and aggressor-related companies and to suspend clearing services of their OTC transactions.

Such letters were sent by Market Operator to European energy exchanges - Nord Pool, EPEX SPOT, Slovak market operator - OKTE, Romanian - OPCOM, Hungarian - HUPX, Bulgarian - IBEX, Czech - OTE, as well as the American exchange NASDAQ and Turkish market operator EPIAS.

"We are a Ukrainian electricity market operator with an annual trading volume of 50 TWh worth 2.6 billion euros, and we ask you to join forces in the fight against the enemy - the Russian Federation. Until now, Russian traders and companies associated with the aggressor country continue to operate in the world's stock markets, thus receiving funds to finance the war in Ukraine. We ask you to close the access of Russian participants and companies related to this country to exchange transactions on their exchanges, to stop clearing services of their OTC transactions. This is the least you can do for us, Ukrainians who give their lives defending the main European values - freedom and democracy ", - personally addressed his foreign colleagues, Acting General Director of JSC" Market Operator " Oleksandr Havva.
