JUNE 2023: THE VOLUME OF ELECTRICITY TRADING ON THE IDM INCREASED BY 80.27%

In June 2023, the BASE price index on the Ukrainian DAM amounted to UAH 2,890.05/MWh, which is 1.57% higher than the average electricity price in May of this year. The weighted average price for the purchase and sale of electricity on the DAM is 3.64% higher compared to the previous month, and amounts to 2,971.47 UAH/MWh. On the intraday market, the weighted average price of electricity accepted in June amounted to 2,935.68 UAH/MWh, which is 11.52% lower than the May average price on the IDM.

The trading volume on the day-ahead market decreased by 5.78%, and on the intraday market increased by 80.27%, so that the amount of 1,629,679.4 MWh was accepted on both market segments for June 2023. The demand on the DAM increased by 0.88%, while supply decreased by 11.86% in June. The demand increased by 78.69%, while supply increased by 2.60% on the IDM.

The average prices for electricity on the Ukrainian day-ahead market are more than 1.25 times lower than the average prices on the DAM of Romania, Slovakia and Hungary.
