The average prices on the spot electricity market in Slovakia decreased by 46,4%, in Hungary - by 44%, in Romania - by 38,4% in October 2022. The base-load price indices in these countries were lower than on the day-ahead market of Ukraine at some hours of the weekend.
And if in September of this year the electricity average prices for business consumers in Europe were more than four times higher than in Ukraine, then in October the difference was halved.
The price index of BASE electricity on the DAM amounted to 3 301,71 UAH/MWh for October 2022. The weighted average price of electricity purchase and sale was 3 535,24 UAH/MWh for this month. On the intraday market the weighted average price of electricity traded during October amounted to 3 611,77 UAH/MWh.
The volume of electricity traded on the DAM in October 2022 was 1 408 880 MWh, whereas on the IDM 166 859 MWh of electricity were traded. The demand for electricity purchase on the day-ahead market increased by 54,9% in October, and the supply for electricity sale increased by 32,1%. As for the intraday market, demand for electricity purchase increased by 93,7%, and the supply increased by 25,4%. Both market segments were in deficit during October 22-28.
